Leading Aircraftman Renaud was one of two airmen killed when #4 Bombing and Gunnery School's Westland Lysander (#2437) aircraft, which was engaged in a routine drogue towing exercise at the time, crashed near the aerodrome at Fingal, Ontario. Warrant Officer Class II Norman Thomas LAVOIE also perished in this aircraft accident.
